Sr Software Engineer (Warren, MI)

We are currently seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join our team in Warren, MI to lead the development of Intelligent Agent software for US Army Ground Vehicle Systems Center (GVSC) programs.

The GVSC Crew Optimization and Augmentation Technologies Program (COAT) program looks to revolutionize the way that vehicle crew members interact with both manned and unmanned vehicles.  As a Senior Software Engineer supporting the COAT program, you will work as part of a cross-functional team to lead a team of software engineers to develop Intelligent Agent software that will improve crew performance through human-agent teaming. You will use an Unreal Engine 4 (UE4) Virtual Environment to facilitate development, evaluation, and maturation of Intelligent Agent software components. You work with System Engineers, Human Factors Engineers, Warfighter Machine Interface (WMI) software developers and UE4 developers and use a Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) approach to define Intelligent Agent functional and performance requirements. You will design Intelligent Agent software component architecture and interfaces. You will transition Intelligent Agent software components from the UE4 Virtual Environment to tactical ground vehicles and support field integration, experimentation, and demonstrations.

Essential Job Functions:

Lead a key area of the COAT cross functional team and interface directly with Systems Engineers, Human Factors Engineers, and WMI Software Engineers, UE4 Software Engineers, government stakeholders and subject matter experts.

Use a MBSE approach to identify and document software requirements.

Use a MBSE approach and UE4 Virtual Environment to support software design, development, integration, evaluation, and test.

Lead the Intelligent Agent software team and perform activities such as task planning, resource assignments, software design, and software development.

Present Intelligent Agent software status to program leadership.

Required Skills:

Due to the sensitivity of customer related requirements, U.S. citizenship is required.

Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering or Computer Science plus 5 years of experience.

Ability to obtain and maintain a US Government security clearance.

At least 2 years of proven experience as Technical Lead.

Experience with tactical/combat systems/subsystems or C4 solutions for U.S. Army ground vehicles.

Strong C++ skills; Modeling & Simulation and/or real-time embedded software development experience with both Linux and Windows environments.
